Beskrivelse
Climate change continues to alter marine ecosystems, including fish distribution and mammal migration routes in East Greenland. In order to understand community adaptation to climate change, it is important to understand how changes are observed, understood and experienced on a local scale. Local Ecological Knowledge (LEK) is a valuable source of knowledge in this context. In the Horizon Europe 2020 ECOTIP project, LEK has been consulted as knowledge in its own right to explore the character and implication of on-going processes of biodiversity changes from a fishery community perspectives. This presentation communicates observations offered by fishers from the Tasiilaq area (May-June 2023) regarding changes in their nearby ecosystem over ‘the past 10 years’, as well as their most important concerns for the future fishery and community in Tasiilaq.Periode | 8 nov. 2023 |
