The 15-minute City is a promising concept to improve quality of life in cities. However, there is a risk of exclusion, unwanted consequences or rebounds such as green gentrification or social segregation.
Looking at the Critical Issues of ‘Context’ and ‘Social Justice’, we therefore want to deep dive with our experts into the relevance of equity, inclusion and accessibility for the 15-minute City concept. Experts will share their perspective on the importance of considering diverse user groups and various needs in order to make the 15-minute City a reality for everybody.
The Critical Issues were part of our recent publication ‘Navigating the 15-minute City: First Learnings and Discussions from the Driving Urban Transitions Partnership’. We define Critical Issues as issues that might affect the successful implementation of the 15-minute City concept and consequently the transition towards more just and sustainable cities.
