Beskrivelse

Kathleen Folbigg, who was convicted of murdering her four children, was exonerated after 20 years in prison due to genetic research. Professor Michael Toft Overgaard from Aalborg University and a colleague from Aarhus University, Professor Mette Nyegaard, had previously discovered a rare mutation in a Swedish family with a history of sudden cardiac deaths. This mutation was similar to the one found in Folbigg and two of her children. Mr Overgaard's and Ms Nyegaard's findings supported the theory that the deaths of Folbigg's children were due to natural causes. (Summary provided by Infomedia). Sources:Reader's Digest, 10-04-2024
