Beskrivelse

A study by Aleksejs Sazonovs, PhD, from the Center for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (PREDICT) at Aalborg University Copenhagen, and colleagues, has found that metabolomic changes can predict the onset of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis up to 10 years in advance. The research used nuclear magnetic resonance to measure 250 metabolic biomarkers in 490,000 people. The strongest signal was for inflammation, but the changes were systemic. The study was presented at the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) 2025 Congress. (Summary provided by Infomedia) Sources:Medscape, 04-03-2025
