      Beskrivelse

According to a new study from Aarhus University, children who have expressed a desire at the age of 11 to be a different gender enter puberty earlier than their peers. Master's programme student, Anne Hjorth Thomsen and Professor Cecilia Ramlau-Hansen, at the Department of Public Health at Aarhus University, are behind the study, with Centre for Sexology at Aalborg University Hospital as one of the participating partners. According to Ms Thomsen, it is important that health staff and professionals are aware of children's previous puberty treatment, so that treatment can be applied at the right time. Nonetheless, more research is required. (Summary provided by Infomedia) Sources: Scienmag, 18-11-2022 EurekAlert, 18-11-2022
