BeskrivelseThroughout our series "Healthy Buildings, High Performance, Happy hearts & minds" we have addressed the pivotal aspects of healthy buildings and in this last Science Talks addressed the one of the major challenges of architects today is to offer spaces that respond to all people’s needs, regardless of differences in physical, sensory, mental and social abilities. The Science Talks emphasized that although it may be complex to design space and building that meet all people’s needs, it is not impossible: - Architecture can improve users’ cognitive, physical and social experiences. - Through interdisciplinary collaboration and user-participation in the design process it is indeed possible to ensure universal design. - Universal design requires to take following factors into account: 1. Physical 2. Sensory and cognitive 3. Social. - More than a quarter of the European population faces accessibility problems every day (UN, Bruxelles 2019). Speakers: Roberta Cassi, Industrial Ph.D. Fellow, Royal Danish Academy – Architecture, Design, Conservation :::: Erica Isa Mosca, Postdoctoral Researcher, Ph.D. arch, Politecnico di Milano – Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering, Design & Health LAB :::: Turid Borgestrand Øien, Researcher, PhD. cand.arch, Department of the Built Environment, Aalborg University – Construction Management and Innovation
