Beskrivelse

The number of migrants reaching the shores of Spain from Morocco has declines with around 70% since 2018, where Morocco began to receive millions of Euros from the European Union to limit the migration. Morocco has received 140 million Euros from EU since February, alongside another 26 million Euros from Spain. Additionally, Spain sent another 32 million Euros last week. According to Lemberg-Pedersen, Morocco spend the money on “infrastructures of surveillance, control and detention” particularly surrounding the Spanish enclaves Ceuta and Melilla.
