      Beskrivelse

      The Danish National Life Science Supercomputing Center, Computerome is a High Performance Computing facility specialised and optimized for life science research.

      Users include research groups from Danish universities and large international research consortiums as well as users from industry and the public health care sector. They all benefit from the fast, flexible and secure infrastructure and the ability to combine different types of sensitive data and perform analysis.

      Being one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers dedicated to life science research, Computerome plays a vital role in undertaking ambitious research projects, among others in personalised medicine and in developing new drugs based on better understanding the mechanisms of disease and their biology.

      Computerome consists of 31,360 CPU cores, 20 petabyte storage, and 220 terabyte memory providing an aggregate peak performance in excess of 1,000 TeraFLOPS.

      The research projects running on Computerome involve, in many cases highly sensitive and valuable data, and the data is stored and processed with security and data protection as key priorities.

      Computerome maintains an extensive and ever growing list of software and scientific tools available to the users (currently 3,000). The software and the tools are preconfigured and ready to use, and regularly updated.

      There are two ways of utilising the vast computing and storage powers of Computerome.
      • The standard HPC service offers a secure cluster where data can be stored and made available for performing analysis.
      • The Secure Private Cloud is a “Platform as a Service” (PaaS) that provides the user a private and dedicated virtual supercomputer.

      Access to Computerome is available to everyone working in Danish Life Science research and we encourage health care, academic and industry users to use the facility.
