    Beskrivelse

    Research Focus
The primary research focus of the Laboratory for Sensory-Motor Control and Plasticity is to investigate the mechanisms behind sensory processing impairments and the interplay between the motor control signals sent from the central nervous system (CNS) and the sensory signals sent back to the CNS, as well as the neuroplasticity occurring in the CNS. A deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind sensory processing impairments, motor control, and neuroplasticity can be used to develop better methods and techniques for diagnosis and rehabilitation of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism and ADHD, or after injuries to the CNS.

    Specialised Equipment:
•Electroencephalography (EEG) for measuring brain activity
•MTS mechanical actuator system for stationary ankle and knee joint perturbations
•Electromyography (EMG) for measuring muscle activity
    •Electrogoniometry for measuring joint angles
•Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) with BrainSight neuro-navigation for measuring corticospinal excitability
•Electrical stimulators for peripheral nerve stimulation
