Organisationsprofil
The purpose of the Organizational Sociology Research Group (OrgSoc) is to produce original and excellent research that is impactful nationally as well as internationally. In our projects, we work with a broad range of theories from the following fields: organizational change; innovation; co-production; human and algorithmic expertise; practice theory; leadership and managerial work; decision-making; interorganizational coordination; relational coordination; institutional theory; boundary work; sensemaking; and emotion regulation.
Designs and methods. Using primarily qualitative, mixed methods and participatory approaches, members of the OrgSoc group study a variety of related topics relevant for organizing and organizations mainly from the public sector and civil society. We often use longitudinal, processual and/or different types of case study designs in order to contribute to organizational and sociological theories, to methods, and to practice.
We use organizational and sociological theories to examine e.g. how professionals’ work is organized and practiced across sectors, organizations, and disciplines; how people make sense of change using simulation; how institutional logics of co-production differ across countries; people’s emotion norms and practices in different contexts; how public sector staff make decisions with technology; the benefits and challenges inherent in involving people in their own care; and the role of trust in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships within and across public and civil society sector organizations.
