Pernille Gjerløv-Juel is an Associate Professor in Economics, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship. She is associated with the IKE-group (Industrial Dynamics, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship) at Aalborg University Business School.

Her research is quantitative micro-level analyses of employee mobility, entrepreneurship, and organizational change based on register data from Statistics Denmark.

In entrepreneurship, her research focuses on questions such as how do founder characteristics affect new firm performance? And, what motivates founders to run their own startups versus hiring a manager? Her research often combines entrepreneurship and employee mobility. For example, former entrepreneurs post-exit labor market mobility. She also studied the economic effects of employee mobility to incumbent competitors compared with startups.

Finally, more recent research interests include organizational change and employee well-being and gender inequality in the Danish labor market.
