Daniel Galland is Associate Professor in the Department of Planning at Aalborg University Copenhagen. He has an international background including appointments at universities in Norway, Denmark, Spain and Canada. His research interests are in metropolitan planning and governance, spatial planning reorientations and international comparative planning. He teaches masters courses in inter alia planning theory, planning history, urban theory and metropolitan planning. Daniel is co-editor of Metropolitan Regions, Planning and Governance (Springer 2020) and the special issue Planning Regional Futures (Regional Studies 2020).

Daniel is currently Executive Committee Member of the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP), where he chairs the Excellence in Education Board and is responsible for AESOP's Quality Recognition Programme.
