Research
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher engaged in two different projects. The first, the “PARENT-project”  in collaboration with Stine Thidemann Faber, investigates how state-endorsed views on parenting are transmitted through various techniques, such as new policies, programs, and campaigns targeting the perceived insecurities and potential inadequacy of contemporary parents. This project also examines the implementation of educational programs in Danish municipalities aimed at guiding parents to act in specific ways.

My other postdoctoral position is at the project “RELATIONAL POLICING: Kinship work and relatedness in a deprived neighborhood in Denmark” in collaboration with Mette-Louise Johansen from VIVE. Here, through fieldwork, I aim to understand how minoritized, criminal youth experience and navigate their numerous encounters with the local police.

I have extensive experience in both theoretically and empirically informed anthropological research, as well as in conducting fieldwork across diverse settings, from criminal youth groups and parenting-courses to various school environments.

Scientific Focus: Family–state encounters, At-risk families and youth, Fatherhood, Masculinity, Minoritizing processes, Marginalizing processes, Pedagogy, Educational inequalities, Ethnographic fieldwork.

 

Teaching
I have extensive experience in teaching and supervising students at all levels, from first-semester undergraduates to supervising students who are writing their theses. I currently teach and supervise at the Sociology education, focusing on Gender, Minority, and Intersectionality Theory, and I am also broadly involved in the Master of Social Work program.
