Anthony Ebert completed his PhD in statistics at the Australian Research Council Center of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS) at the Queensland University of Technology under the supervision of Professor Kerrie Mengersen, an international leader in Bayesian methodology and applications, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. Later, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Lugano, Switzerland at the Università della Svizzera italiana in collaboration with the Harvard School of Public Health. He is now a postdoctoral researcher at the National Center of Excellence for Molecular Prediction of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (PREDICT), Aalborg University, Copenhagen where he collaborates closely with Professor Tine Jess, the founder and head of PREDICT.

Anthony Ebert’s work has advanced the field of statistics and epidemiology in both statistical methodology and applications. He is the first author of seminal papers in high impact journals, including the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, the Journal of Statistical Software, Gastroenterology, and Nature Communications. His research has been featured on the front cover of Gastroenterology, as a plenary talk at ECCO, and as a late breaking abstract at UEG. He has developed new algorithms for Bayesian inference and computation. Regarding software, he is a highly proficient programmer and first author of the highly cited R package queuecomputer, which is available on CRAN.
