I am an Associate Professor in Blue Governance at Aalborg University in Denmark.

- My interests in blue/ocean governance are broad; from transformative ocean governance, international collaboration in ocean science, governance of offshore wind, communication of a sustainable blue ocean future, to novel threats experienced by the maritime sector.

- I approach these questions through a global lens; from the EU, the Atlantic, to the Pacific; as well as international organizations, emerging powers, and SIDS. I am committed to interdisciplinary and participatory research, and contribute to research-to-policy collaboration.

My key publications are 3 books:
- Infrastructure Communication in International Relations (Routledge, 2021)
- China’s Communication of the Belt and Road Initiative: Silk Road and Infrastructure Narratives (Routledge, 2022)
- Strategic Narratives, Ontological Security and Global Policy: Responses to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (co-authored, Palgrave, 2022).

I am currently involved in two exciting Horizon projects:
- PERMAGOV (research developing the performance of marine governance, Work package lead)
- OBAMA-NEXT (research project on next-generation monitoring technologies and marine biodiversity, co-investigator).
