Daniel is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Aalborg University in Copenhagen. Prior to joining Aalborg University, he held a postdoctoral position at the Computer Science Department of University College Cork and Lero, following the completion of his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Bologna. Throughout his career, Daniel has conducted extensive research on topics such as empirical software engineering, AI adoption within the software development lifecycle, diversity and inclusion within software engineering teams, pandemic transformation, and advanced research methodologies. He has collaborated with prominent professional organizations, defense agencies, and multinational banking institutions in his studies. Moreover, Daniel has successfully led or collaborated on projects that have secured approximately €1 million in research funding. He is a prolific author with over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters to his name. His career achievements have been recognized with numerous awards and honors.
