Forskningsprofil

Building on my experience as a clinical orthopedic physiotherapist, my research focuses on improving musculoskeletal health and understanding how different musculoskeletal complaints affect individuals’ functional abilities, physical activity, quality of life, and mental well-being.

I currently balance my role as a PhD student at the Department of Clinical Medicine with my clinical work as an extended scope physiotherapist in the Hand-Team at the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and the Orthopedic Department at Aalborg University Hospital Farsø.

My PhD research aims to gain a better understanding of the prevalence and impact of concurrent musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction in the upper limb and neck among patients with hand and forearm injuries/conditions, as well as to improve management strategies. I am also investigating how patients’ physical activity and movement patterns after injury—especially in cases of wrist fractures—might contribute to secondary musculoskeletal complaints in the upper limb and neck.

Through my combined role as a clinician and researcher, I hope to contribute to advancements in musculoskeletal health that are both meaningful for patients and can be applied to everyday clinical practice.
