Mohammadjavad (Matin) Einafshar is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Material and Production at Aalborg University. He holds a PhD in Biomechanics from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, where he focused on the mechanical characterization of orthopedic bone screws through modal analysis and its correlation with pullout force and insertion torque. His doctoral research, which included extensive collaborations with various biomechanics research groups, laid the groundwork for innovations in assessing implant stability and optimizing bone-drilling procedures.

Since joining Aalborg University, Matin has led projects exploring the biomechanics of bone-implant interactions, particularly in orthopedic screw fixation, with recent work on knee prosthetics as part of the SPARK project. He is recognized for his interdisciplinary approach, combining finite element analysis, computational mechanics, and in vitro experiments to improve surgical outcomes and implant designs.

Matin’s research has strong industry relevance, reflected in partnerships with top orthopedic research laboratories and companies globally, including collaborations with Harvard Medical School and KU Leuven. His work has been featured in over 30 peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, highlighting advancements in biomechanical stability assessment, drilling mechanics, and personalized finite element modeling.

He is also an active member of the European Society of Biomechanics and a regular reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Biomechanics and Spine. Matin’s contributions were recently recognized at the International Iranian Conference on Biomedical Engineering, where he received the Best Poster Presentation award. His current projects include the development of innovative, patient-specific implant solutions, with ongoing international research visits and collaborations in Leuven, Belgium, as part of the SPARK initiative.
