Forskningsprofil
Mathias Vedsø Kristiansen is an accomplished researcher in the field of clinical and health sciences, with a strong focus on the intersection of sports science and health technology. As an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Aalborg University, he leads the Body Composition Laboratory and the Strength Laboratory, where he conducts pioneering research on muscle function, strength training, bone health and body composition.
Dr. Kristiansen's work is characterized by its clinical relevance, particularly in the areas of breast cancer rehabilitation and chronic pain management. His notable projects include the ANTRAC study, which investigates the analgesic effects of resistance training in breast cancer survivors, and the STEEL study, a multicenter randomized controlled trial aimed at minimizing late effects of childhood leukemia or lymphoma through strength training exercises.
Dr. Kristiansens numerous scientific publications has significantly contributed to understanding muscle synergies, strength training adaptations, and the application of advanced imaging techniques in clinical settings. His research has been instrumental in developing evidence-based protocols for improving physical performance and health outcomes in various populations, including athletes and individuals with chronic conditions.
Dr. Kristiansen's expertise is further recognized through his role as a reviewer for several high-impact journals and his active participation in international conferences. His collaborative efforts with institutions across Europe and Australia underscore his commitment to advancing the field of health science through interdisciplinary research and innovation.
