Short presentation of Prof. Emeritus Erik Stubkjær (Gold Plaque)

 

The beginnings of cooperation between Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering and Prof. Erik Stubkjær, who comes from the University in Aalborg (Ålborg) in Denmark, go back to the mid 1990-ies. It was in that time that Prof. Erik Stubkjær with his pioneering work and enthusiastic approach in the European project Phare TEMPUS contributed significantly to the renovation of studies in the area of geodesy and real estate management at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, and consequently to the development of geodesy as profession and science in Slovenia. Our cooperation quickly outgrew the borders of Slovenia and our Faculty started to join important international networks. Slovenian researchers took over important roles in numerous international projects. For the last two decades the cooperation between UL FGG and other institutions in these networks has only been strengthening. As a result, teachers and researchers of UL FGG are today actively involved in international research and educational activities. Special merits for such success in international activity and quality research of UL FGG for these areas can definitely be attributed to Prof. Erik Stubkjær.
