The project aims at supporting research capacity in Africa in the field of Innovation and Development. Under the programme, AAU is responsible for a PhD and Post-doc Visiting Fellowship Programme but also provides strategic support to the network, including organisation of AfricaLics research conferences, PhD academies, webinars and organisational development work. The project is anchored at ACTS (the African Centre for Technology Studies) in Nairobi, which hosts the AfricaLics secretariat and overseen by the AfricaLics Scientific Board comprising 17 (mainly African) researchers active in the field of Innovation and Development. AfricaLics is a regaional research network linked to Globelics (www.globleclics.org) and supported financially by Swedish development cooperation agency (SIDA).
