Beskrivelse

The aim of the research is to examine the different forms that human trafficking for labour exploitation takes in countries of destination today. The research will provide an overview of the main economic sectors where exploitation is taking place, the forms of exploitation that victims are subjected to and control mechanisms that are used by perpetrators to keep victims in situations of exploitation. It will also examine the perception and demand of migrant labour in the destination countries and ways that destination countries could protect migrant workers from being subjected to exploitative conditions. Despite the increased attention that is being given to trafficking of human beings for labour exploitation, there is still a lack of knowledge on the forms that labour exploitation can take in countries of destination. A greater knowledge in this area would give destination countries better possibilities to protect victims from situations of exploitation and human trafficking.
