The project aims to consolidate the Danish industry and university’s competitive edge in the energy sector by addressing the challenges in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) for next-generation cognitive power electronic systems. Power Electronics process 80% of electricity generated and utilized today, being a part of the critical infrastructure toward green transition. Since the 1990s, academic research in power electronics has started to apply AI-based methods. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of practical implementation. AI-Power will bridge the gap to industry applications by developing tailored physics-informed AI tools for energy efficiency boost and life-cycle-cost reduction of power electronics-based energy systems. The project will develop tailored physics-informed AI tools for the design, operation, and maintenance of power electronic systems. IoT-based data measurement units and an open-access data platform will also be realized. The AI tools will be computation-efficient and robust enough based on relevant and trusted data sources for industry technology demonstrators.
