Projektdetaljer
Beskrivelse
The overall aim of BeyondBattRec is to develop and optimize the safe, sustainable and efficient preprocessing of the end of life (EoL) Lithium-ion batteries (LiBs), that can enable—via innovative technological developments, strategies and protocols entailing from battery sorting to separation into purified materials—(i) 95% recovery of critical raw materials (Li, Co, Ni and graphite), and current collectors Al and Cu, (ii) >70% reutilization of the EoL LiBs weight (iii) >50 % reduction in carbon emission (iv) 95% recovery of non-metallic elements (electrolytes, polymers and solvent) in recycling EoL LiBs. The project will support the policy needs of the European Green Deal and visions and objectives of BATT4EU partnership by contributing to the development of competitive, sustainable and circular European battery value chain through implementation of Best Available Technologies in battery recycling.
Lægmandssprog
