Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

The project will develop and demonstrate digital design and product qualification processes for future high efficiency and compact power electronics systems, with a focus on inverters in both low- and medium voltage, such as motor drives, pumps and wind turbine applications. For future power electronic systems, based on SiC and GaN semiconductors, a challenge is to measure and validate the physical system due to their compactness and speed. It is required to develop new digital design and product qualification methods to utilize the new semiconductors, which will also reduce the requirement of many physical measurements performed in the laboratory.

The project will transform conventional design strategies, by moving the design-process from several physical prototypes in the laboratory, to more and faster design-iterations on a digital platform. The vision is that only a single physical prototype has be manufactured to reach the desired product specifications. Development of designs will be changed from being a series of decoupled recipes, into being a multi-physics-based digital design framework. By interconnecting sub-components in the design and including its cross-couplings, the overall performance of the system will be increased.
