Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

The project is a collaboration between the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (Centre for Minerals and Materials (MiMa)) and Aalborg University (China Studies and Arctic Studies). The project starts from the observation that China’s interest in the Arctic as a source of mineral raw materials has grown in recent years. There is, however, a lack of qualified knowledge concerning China’s intentions and priorities in the Arctic. The project seeks to fill this knowledge gap by identifying, describing, and analysing the Chinese mineral sector’s different geopolitical and geological priorities towards the Arctic, the processes and mechanisms by which they are formed, and how they affect Chinese investments and activities in the Arctic mineral sector.
