Beskrivelse

This is a part of the Local Compensation research programme. Power Quality problems are undesirable for many modern consumers, such as information systems, automotive production plants, medical and security systems. In this project CUPS, applied to compensate voltage sags of a short duration are studied. Voltage sags are a main source of disturbances for sensitive consumers and a Dynamic Voltage Restorer is a type of device that can compensate these by injecting the missing voltage. The main objectives in this project are to: * identify suitable topologies for power converters at the distribution level * design, implement and test a Dynamic Voltage Restorer * determine suitable modulation- and control algorithms for a Dynamic Voltage Restorer. Beside the theoretical analysis of power quality and voltage sags, a 10 kVA small-scale DVR prototype has been built to verify and test control strategies. Using experience gained on the small-scale prototype, a second prototype with rated 200 kVA is built. The prototype is tested in the 10 kV distribution grid at the Kyndby test site. The test shows that the DVR operates as expected. (John Godsk Nielsen, Hyosung Kim, Martin Høghdal, Birgitte Bak-Jensen, Hans Nielsen, Frede Blåbjerg, John K.
