Development and Demonstration of Future Decarbonised Smart Distribution Systems



The project will address key issues of future Decarbonised Smart Distribution Systems (DSDS) by systematically developing solutions, taking into account grid interaction with heating, energy storage, transport systems and electricity market. The project will work on the following aspects of future DSDS: a novel forecast approach for system characteristics; mechanisms and tools allowing consumers to participate actively in the energy market and in demand response schemes; optimally implement energy storage units (both fast response units for grid stability and long term units for energy efficiency and economy) methodologies for improved control and automation of distribution networks; and smart integration of grid users.
