Establishing human stem cell cultures

With permission from the donors and the Ethical Committee we receive fertilised surplus eggs (eggs that would otherwise be destructed) and attempt to establish primary and secondary cultures. The fertility clinics Maigaard Fertilitetsklinik ApS and Ciconia kindly supply the surplus eggs. The long-term goal is to develop a source of pluripotent cells for use in biotechnology. The research is carried out in collaboration with Anette Gabrielsen, Ciconia. Funded by The European Commission's 5th Framework Programme.
