Beskrivelse

This PhD study is motivated by anticipated requirements for a future 4G system. Flexibility and efficiency are both considered as key characteristics, as well as improved Quality of Service. Cooperative wireless networks is considered to be part of the overall network structure for a future 4G scenario. The concept of cooperative wireless network will provide the possibility of e±cient in delivering of future services in a 4G network. A cooperative wireless network is anticipated to require the flexibility in choosing the appropriate technology for different services. Software defined Radio is recognized as a potential technology forimplementing flexible transceiver architectures capable of supporting the anticiptated multitude of technologies expected in a 4G network. SDR is therefore considered to be a suitable implementation technology to accomodate the flexibility that is required in a cooperative scenario. This work is concerned with flexible architectures capable of supporting a cooperative communication scenario. The application being flexible subcarrier allocation in an downlink scenario where multiple terminals are allocated subcarriers to achieve enhanced link quality.
