Beskrivelse

The project aims at integrating knowledge about the social dynamics of energy consumption into energy modelling tools in order to develop sustainable energy scenarios that will be more useful in policy making. Today, the demand side of energy scenarios is often based on technical analyses of energy efficiency and not on analyses of the dynamics of social needs and the potentials and limitations to reduce or change the drivers of energy demand such as mobility demand, the demand for housing space, etc.
The project integrates experiences from European research of sustainable energy practices initiatives into two energy modelling tools, and develop modified Danish, Latvian and Lithuanian national sustainable energy scenarios building upon the combination of sufficiency, efficiency and renewable energy. Furthermore, the project creates national policy dialogues among public and private actors in Nordic and Baltic countries, and disseminate the methodology for integration of sufficiency into energy modelling tools and scenarios through publications and a hands-on stakeholder workshop.
