Beskrivelse
Scanning near-field optical microscopy techniques for characterization and imaging (with subwavelength spatial resolutions) of linear and nonlinear (second-harmonic generation) interactions in nanostructured materials are developed. The current applications include but are not limited to: *waveguide circuits in silicon-on-insulator photonic crystals *nanoscale surface plasmon polaritonic band gap structures *random nanostructured metal surfaces and interfaces *organic nano-needles and nano-fibers *channel waveguides in electrically poled glasses (Sergey Bozhevolnyi (Research professor), Valentin Volkov (PhD Student), Jonas Beerman (PhD Student) )
