Beskrivelse
This project will mobilize local resources and technologies in district heating systems for balancing services in the power grid. The project will use a new and more detailed and integrated design approach. The new design approach will increase the balancing service efficiency from the district heating system while decreasing the necessary investments. The project will develop and demonstrate the new design method, quantify the economic potential and demonstrate the applicability in laboratory environment.
The main focus of the project is to optimize the synergies between the power system and district heating systems in urban areas. The power system will benefit from improved balancing flexibility targeted towards improved integration of renewables and improved security of supply. The district heating system will benefit from increasing green supply and from decreased investments. The potential for improving synergies between power and heat systems is far from utilized – especially when taking the increasing urban concentration in to account.
