Beskrivelse

Wireless Networks Subgroup: Embedded Systems The SAGE-SDE receiver for DS-CDMA developed by the DiCOM group at Aalborg University demonstrates many virtues that make its implementation tractable for 3G environments. However, for mobile terminals, the algorithm is too complex in term of computational requirements. This collaboration project between Ce ntre for Embedded Software Systems (AAU), RTX Telecom A/S and DiCOM investigates mathematical optimisations of the SAGE-SDE scheme in order to make a prototype implementation possible. The receiver processing hardware is a state-of-the-art DSP. A recursive version of the SAGE-SDE scheme was derived without compromising the algorithm performance. This version has been successfully implemented on the prototype platform with a complexity comparable to linear receivers, but with superior bit-error-rates. In addition the derived algorithm structure has lead to a remarkable possibility for algorithm performance improvements introducing only little complexity increase.
