The highly conserved sequence composition of heat shock proteins (HSPs) has been known for over two decades and their immunogenic role in infectious diseases supports that they may be involved in the pathogenesis of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases such as Reactive arthritis (ReA). In this study the objective was to investigate the immune response to bacterial and human HSP60 among well-characterized patients from the disease group of spondyloarthropathies (SpAs).
