Beskrivelse

Abstract:
With the aim of advancing Denmark towards a carbon-neutral society, the integration of renewable energy resources into power systems via DC networks has become a significant focus. Nonetheless, the varying power profiles of these resources present challenges for power systems. The interconnection, management, and fault response are critical for future DC grids accommodating diverse power resources.

The Multiport Converter (MPC) stands out as the preferred solution for integrating various DC interfaces due to its advantages such as compact dimension, high efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. However, the MPC technology is coming up against limitations like sophisticated modelling and control methods. Furthermore, a comprehensive study of MPC grid operations is essential to address practical issues, not only under steady-state conditions but also under fault-tolerant scenarios.

This project is dedicated to examining MPC technology, focusing on topology design, modulation strategy, and control strategy to enhance its technical and economic performance.
