Beskrivelse
The Ph.D is part of TRANSIT (TRANsformative Social Innovation Theory) that is an ambitious research project that will develop a theory of transformative social innovation. Social innovation – new ideas that meet unmet needs – can be social entrepreneurships as well as innovations in public policy or governance. Examples of such innovations are all around us – from kindergartens and playgrounds to Wikipedia and cognitive therapy for prisoners – and over the last centuries many innovations have moved from the margins to mainstream. The objective in TRANSIT is to develop a theory with practical relevance for social entrepreneurs and innovators, policy makers, and academics, and the vision is to increase the impact and potential of transformative social innovation that can empower people and facilitate change for sustainable development in society.
