Beskrivelse

The scope of this project is to achieve a Proof-of-Concept on the next generation hybrid power plant (HPP) controller in a Real-Time Control Hardware-in-the-Loop environment. One objective is to investigate feasible architectures for an off-grid HPP, including configuration of power generation mix and capacity for given load demands and supply security levels. The related hypothesis is to configure the HPP in a comprehensive and reliable way by carefully selecting the system constraints and selecting assumptions incorporated in an overall simulation model. The second objective is to develop control and operational strategies for the HPP operating in off-grid conditions. The related hypothesis is that existing control and operational strategies can be further developed and related to a HPP which integrates wind turbines (WTGs) and a flexible mix of other Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) as well as the demand response. The final Proof-of-Concept will reveal the minimum technical requirements and the boundaries for the HPP controller, but also the validity and scalability of the proposed architecture.
