The Institut Wohnen und Umwelt GmbH (IWU Institute for Housing and Environment) and the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Institute of Political Science, are running a project on housing policies in the member states of the European Union, funded by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI), and coordinated by the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) in preparation of the German Council Presidency in the second half of the year 2020. The project will investigate the foundations and recent developments of national housing policies in all EU member states, combining both national and EU sectoral policy influences in a comparative perspective for the first time. Rikke Skovgaard Nielsen functions as the expert for housing policy issues in Denmark.
