I artiklen: "Sørensen, J.D., Stang, B.D. Moisture and load-duration effects can be modelled by a number of deterministic, mathematical damage accumulation models, e.g. the models by Gerhard, Barret & Foschi, Nielsen, Foschi & Yao. For codes of practice, load-duration factors kmod are determined based on test results. In the paper: "Sørensen, J.D., Stang, B.D. & Svensson, S.: Effect of Load-Duration on Timber Structures in Denmark (submitted to ICASP '09 conference in San Francisco, July 2003)" it is described how kmod can be estimated based on a probabilistic approach ,where all uncertainties are taken into account related to the material parameters and to loads such as wind, snow and imposed loads. In the project this model will be extended to include moisture aspects, including development of a stochastic model for the effect of moisture on the damage accumulation in structural timber and estimation of the model parameters using available data and the Maximum Likelihood Method. The project is part of the Materials Research programme "Modelling the Effects of Moisture and Load History on the Mechanical Properties of Wood", funded by STVF and conducted in cooperation with The Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
