Strategic Tourism in an International Perspective. A Comparative Study of the Relationship between objectives, Means and Implementation in Regional tourism Planning and Development

The aim of this PhD project, which has been kindly supported financially by the auspices of SPAR-NORD-FONDEN, is primarily to provide new and in depth knowledge on the political dimensions of contemporary tourism at a regional level - as opposed to supranational, national and local levels. This project is designed to generate knowledge from 3 regional case studies being Northern Jutland, Denmark, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, and Nova Scotia in Canada. All 3 regions are geographically, politically, economically and administratively well-defined regions. The main focus of the project is on Northern Jutland. (Peter Kvistgaard )
