Technology absorption through supplier relationships



    This industrial research project is a joint effort between CIP and Bang & Olufsen A/S. Bang & Olufsen A/S initiated the project based on the assumption that the competitive advantage of the company is rapidly shifting to the management of suppliers, which accounts for as much as 60-80% of the manufacturing cost. Specifically, the research project is intended to analyze and examine the inter-organizational competence development in relation to adoption of new technologies through supplier relations. Bang & Olufsen A/S acts as a "laboratory" for the research. Data collection methods include interviews, documentation analysis, questionnaires and direct observations.
