Beskrivelse

The aim of this project is to improve the design methods for natural ventilation in both single-sided and cross-ventilated cases. The results will contain an analysis of how the fluctuations in the wind will impact on the ventilation rate and how the nearby environment leads to different situations of pressure and wind distribution on and around the building. More over, the impact of different angles of incidence and velocities of the wind on the ventilation rate will be analysed together with the effect of multiple openings in the building. The analyses will be made based on experimental full-scale work done both outdoors and in a more controllable environment in a wind tunnel. The outdoor experiments are made on an existing building, and the wind tunnel tests are made at the Japanese Building Research Institute in Tsukuba, Japan on a building sized 5.56 x 5.56 x 3 m. CFD models of the experiments will also be used in the analyses to simulate different environments near the building and to test the impact of the position of the opening. The project is funded through the Hybrid Ventilation Centre Aalborg University
