Abstrakt
The effect of wave short-crestedness on the horizontal wave force on a caisson is twofold. The one is the force reduction due to the reduction of point pressure on the caisson, named point-pressure reduction. The other is the force reduction due to the fact that the peak pressures do not occur simultaneously along the caisson, named peak-delay reduction. Model test results indicate that the point-pressure reduction can be predicted by the Goda formula.
