The main objective of the research presented in this thesis is to describe and understand the process and effects of facilitated Continuos Improvement (CI) on group learning in order to infer actionable CI implementation knowledge. In order to fulfil this objective, a longitudinal study was conducted according to action research methodology at three organizational levels in a Danish manufacturing compagny. The data collected during the study are presented and described in the context of a richly descriptive case story as well as in four research articles, which the researcher (first) authored. The thesis also includes brief overviews of the relevant leterature, including continuos improvement, self-assesment, group and organizational learning, and organizational culture.
