Abstract

A new micro non-resonant electromagnetic energy harvester with iron frame based on free/impact motion is proposed in this paper for increasing the output power. The mathematical model of mechanical system of this new structure and a numerical method for calculating the open-circuit voltage and output power from ultra-low-frequency and large amplitude vibration sources are derived. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is carried out for calculating the flux. This new structure achieves the output power at 5 Hz can reach 220 μW with 10 mm amplitude.
