Adaptive Droop Control Strategy of Autonomous Microgrid for Efficiency Improvement

Abstrakt

This paper presents an adaptive droop control strategy to improve operation efficiency of microgrids under different load profiles. Efficiency model of microgrid is first established to analyze time-variant characteristic of efficiency under different load profiles. Then, optimum solution of efficiency model is derived by Lagrange Multiplier Method and optimum conditions to capture maximum efficiency are then obtained. Furthermore, an adaptive droop control strategy is proposed to improve operation efficiency according to established efficiency model. Simulation results are provided to validate the adaptive droop control strategy. The proposed droop control strategy improves overall efficiency of microgrid under different load profiles. Also, it preserves advantages of conventional droop control strategy.
