Algumas considerações sobre os efeitos negativos da música

This literature review aims to discuss possible risks offered by music in order to aware professionals who use it as an intervention about their iatrogenic consequences. This paper discusses some situations where music can generate negative results: listening a content associated with difficult moments in person’s life; hearing something which we do not appreciate; generating altered state of awareness; the application of this stimuli in some pathologies without knowledge on the musical features present in these conditions; using a repetitive stimulus for a long time; and, the use of a different or strange stimuli that do not correspond with aesthetic preferences of an individual. It concludes that there is a necessity for more research on this topic so that it can be understood how music works in a iatrogenic perspectives in humans.
