Abstract

Showing the predators and prey of the North Sea – in the same aquarium – is not possible to achieve with live animals. Some animals are too big or too intelligent to be put into aquariums, others would not last 5 minutes before they were eaten.

Through the new co-developed experience design it is now possible for us to solve the challenge – through a large 100m2 digital aquarium, where we can show huge fishing schoals and their fascinating patterns of movement, with predators preying on the schoals and slow lumbering giants, devouring everything in one mouthful.

Through connected large screen touch monitors, the guests can participate by playing as one of the fishs, attempting to catch herrings, while avoiding to be eaten by larger predators.
