Abstract
Circle of Form offers an informative guide to the complex discipline of mastering form, contrast and composition in Architecture.
The starting point for this book is our ability to see and think what is similar and what is different. Things can be more or less diverse, but oppositions, contrasts are a particular way to convey the difference. On reflection, opposites are one of the most used methods to quickly and immediately breakdown complex compositions into simple, well-defined but connected pieces. Artists have used this knowledge for centuries because simplicity supports a clear artistic language and oppositions emphasize expression and interaction, whether it is literature, music, painting, sculpture, product design or as in this book: Architecture.
The Circle of Form continues this tradition, but with a systematic and modern perspective. The theoretical approach of this book continues the author’s previous research into art theories, perception, cognitive theories and neuroscience related to visual experiences.
